ئێمەی کورد قسەیەکی نەستەقمان هەیە، کە دەڵێ: لە چیا بەولاوە کورد هاوڕێیان نییە. لە سایەی کەسانی وەک جەنابتان، سیناتۆر، کورد جگە لە چیا هاوڕێی دیکەشیان هەن.

I have served the Kurdish people as a poet and translator for over fifty years. When President Trump made his unilateral, ruthless decision to abandon Kurds, who face extermination within the boundaries of their historical homelands at the hands of the Turkish army, you took the honorable stance. You stood by a people who share with the American people’s ideas of what humanity is. You continued to stand, shoulder-to-shoulder, as American soldiers have, with your allies. We will never forget.
In Kurdish, we have a saying: Kurds have no friends but the mountains. Thanks to brave individuals such as you, Senator, Kurds do have more friends than just their mountains.
